A 28-year-old man charged with aggravated burglary and injury following a March home invasion in Wellington’s Miramar appeared in court on Friday and was remanded until a jury callover in September.
Police believe the incident is linked to the death of Abdul Nabizadah, who was found critically injured nearby shortly after the alleged break-in and later died.
Investigators found that a phone used at the home invasion scene had contacted Nabizadah to arrange a meeting just minutes before he was assaulted.
The accused continues to have name suppression, and no further charges have been laid in connection with Nabizadah’s death.
