46-year-old Mitesh Kumar was sentenced to eight and a half years in prison after attempting to murder his ex-wife in a premeditated attack at an Auckland McDonald’s.
Kumar had persuaded her to come to the restaurant under the pretense of allowing her to see their children.
Upon her arrival he threatened her with a compromising photo before suddenly assaulting her with a utility knife, slashing her neck multiple times over nearly eight minutes.
Bystanders intervened, and the brutal attack only ended when a witness managed to distract Kumar with a chair. The victim sustained severe injuries, requiring multiple surgeries and intensive rehabilitation.
During sentencing, Justice Neil Campbell condemned Kumar’s lack of remorse and failure to take responsibility, highlighting the impact on the victim, who now suffers from deep-seated trauma and fear for her safety.
The court heard statements from the victim’s family, who remain in New Zealand to support her recovery.
Crown prosecutor Robin McCoubrey argued that the extreme violence of the attack warranted a severe sentence, and Justice Campbell agreed, setting a stern tone for deterrence and denouncing Kumar’s attempt to justify his actions.
And deport him after serving time.
Was the family court involved? I have seen many injustices against men and the unreasonable taking of someone’s home, possessions and future income.
If you push people too far, they will resort to extreme violence and suicide. Equally unreasonable, but there you have it.
Fix the family court or expect the same.

Nothing justifies acts like this, EVER. Not all people pushed too far will act in this way and if they do it’s on them not the victims.
Send the cnut back to where he came from. 😡
All at the hard working tax payers expense…wonderful……..
Deport this sick clown
