Former National Party MP for Northland Matt King has launched a new political party called DemocracyNZ.
In a tweet Mr King said the party ‘stands for democracy and uniting all kiwis through our common values.’

The party’s website outlines its core values as:
- Democracy and equality, with freedom of choice, expression and access for all New Zealanders.
- Inclusive and open, striving for a fair, unified nation without discrimination or division.
- A resilient economy that empowers businesses and their communities to thrive.
- Protecting the environment, while respecting the property rights of all New Zealanders.
I love it! Sign me up. The only thing I worry about is all the other small parties like FREENZ and New Conservatives , Outdoors Party etc That splits the vote. I would prefer all these people got together under the one banner “Democracy NZ” and pooled their values, their knowledge, and their Ideas which – let’s face it, all are very similar. If we could have that then I think that would give us politically homeless people some real power.
Why not give it a go Matt? You will garner support very quickly.

Yeah, the egos are out of proportion for the size of the Parties. Each one would want to be the leader. Consolidation is the obvious answer but human nature would trump the good of the nation.

Well I listened to Matt talk on his Facebook page and all I can say is GREAT! Finally a ‘Normal’ person!
We are tired of this 2 party system which we can now see are playing from the same playbook. If you had any doubts of this then the behaviour of the MPs during the Wellington protests should have been a big red flag for you.
It’s time to get rid of these overpaid underperforming self centred career troughers and get some real kiwis in our government like the beautiful mixture of people that were at the Wellington protest. THATS who we are New Zealand. It’s time for us all to move forward as one together, all of us with the same rights and freedoms and not defined by our ancestry of which we have absolutely no control over.
Once this evil and darkness that we are being forced to live under has lifted, there will be a new and wonderful beginning for us. Just like every new day, light always follows the darkness.

I could be very easily swayed to support.
I can’t see much alternative.
If the various groups cannot unite it will fall…. once in, they could, if they unite, then access their various agendas…. but hopefully with the consent of the majority of people. Ever heard of referendums? There is a country who uses them extensively…. also we may have issues with election tampering as I believe this has been happening here for some time….
