A new independent supermarket, Plenty Foods, has opened in Upper Hutt’s Brewtown, offering an alternative to the major supermarket chains.
Owner Henry Hutcheon, who also operates Supersave in Naenae, said the launch went well despite technical issues rebuilding the store’s product database.
The supermarket has hired 40 mostly local staff, including young workers, and aims to keep prices affordable. It features departments for produce, butchery, bakery, seafood, and a café, and sells locally made products such as Dough Bakery goods and The Pickery flowers.
Great stuff👍
Support independent!!
Best of luck to them, hopefully the support is there
Well done.
No white quota?
This is good to see. Its everyday New Zealanders making a difference to our country, not this disloyal, loathsome, political class. The latter only care about themselves and their wealthy sponsors.
These are needed in the smaller cities / larger towns!
