New Nurses Union offers a choice in representation

NPANZ union news

The Nurses Professional Association of New Zealand (NPANZ) is a registered trade union whose principal purpose is to protect and promote the interests of members in matters concerning their employment or professional engagement.

NPANZ has launched with the backing of NZ Unions, a sister organisation of Australia-based Red Union Support Hub. Run by nurses for nurses, the NPANZ executive advocates for a health system that recognises and values nurses as the heart of healthcare.

“If you imagine the healthcare system as a body, nurses are the beating heart, a vital organ that determines the level of fitness and compassion” says union secretary Sarah Gilbertson.

NPANZ wants to see a grassroots approach to issues and believes in empowering member generated solutions. NPANZ has no political affiliations and won’t tell its members how to vote on any issue. The individual and the collective matter, and NPANZ is committed to defending the rights of nurses to work without unnecessary interference from government bureaucrats.

NPANZ offers its members a range of services including indemnity insurance, legal support, industrial advice and assistance with bargaining.

Enquiries are welcome at hotline@nursesunion.co.nz or call 04 887 6888. More information about the union is available on the NPANZ website.

  1. Protects their interests
But not those of their members?
Where was the Union when Nurses were threatened with and were being dismissed for failing to accept and be forced under duress to be injected with a toxic substance
    Untried
    Unproven
    Unsafe
In contravention of the provisions of the Nuremberg Code
Part of the healing process in hospitals is having happy healthy vibrant nurses
    What have we got now?
Disgruntled health impaired compromised nurses who are off sick all the time
The Nurses Union is a fake that cowered down and did not have the balls nor tenacity to stand up to a fascist overlord draconian regime
    Unless I’ve got it wrong
No amount of PR now will in retrospect sugar coat the realities of the complete abysmal and deplorable failure of this organization to protect it’s members
    Ab sailing from the truth
There is no turning back the clock
    The damage has been done
    Absolute hypocrisy
    Resign now

  2. The Nurses Professional Association of New Zealand (NPANZ) does not support a ‘one size fits all’ approach to health and will defend the rights of nurses and carers to make decisions relating to their own bodily autonomy. Newly registered in July 2023, NPANZ provides an alternative to the legacy unions referred to in Cats post. We look forward to welcoming new members.

    • That is good
And what I wanted to hear
      And no doubt others
      Which is why I posted
I wish You all the best for the future
Nurses are a much valued and to be looked after asset
      At all costs
