NZ Diplomat assaulted in armed robbery in Paris

Paris crime news

A New Zealand diplomat was assaulted during an armed robbery in Paris, where they were reportedly tied up and struck in the face with a pistol.

The robbery occurred in the city’s affluent 7th arrondissement, with the assailants fleeing in a vehicle with stolen license plates.

The diplomat was taken to the hospital for treatment, though their condition remains undisclosed.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT) confirmed the incident and stated that the New Zealand Embassy is cooperating with French authorities while supporting the staff member. The investigation is ongoing.

  1. Oh dear. A diplomat, very poor and in a well to do arondisement. Very shabby indeed. I hope he’s well compensated by the hierarchy, Macron should send him something, un petit cadeau, champagne, Quelque chose? All the excitement of the tawdry Olympics I expect.

  2. Y’know, no matter where you are in Paris you really are in Paris, there’s never any doubt about that. Probably the only city ever like it, but being pistol whipped isn’t a good memory to take back with you. Maybe be a good story to recount perhaps, one day.

I wonder if anything like this could ever happen in Dublin?

  3. Yessirree…this is the Cultural Enrichment that is being brought into New Zealand via gradualism and Uniparty policies!

  4. I note that this diplomat doesn’t actually have a sex, so maybe ‘they’ were relaxing after a hard day feasting at the last supper opening insult event. Or possibly ‘they’ had been moonlighting as a boxer, or something. Maybe the French have done away with the colonial concept of gender altogether. Hmm… so many questions….
