Police seek witnesses after arson near Raglan airfield threatens campgrounds

Authorities are appealing for witnesses after a fire near Raglan Airfield sparked an emergency response late yesterday afternoon.

The blaze was reported just after 5 p.m., with emergency services alerted to the incident near Marine Parade. The fire spread rapidly due to dry conditions, posing a serious threat to nearby campgrounds and infrastructure.

Fortunately, the flames were brought under control before any property was damaged.

Raglan Police are keen to speak with anyone who was in the Marine Parade area around the time of the incident or anyone with CCTV footage from the vicinity.

Members of the public with information are urged to contact police online or by calling 105, referencing file number 250115/1158.

Anonymous tips can also be provided through Crime Stoppers at 0800 555 111.
