Name release – Fatal crash, Pound Road
Police can now confirm the name of the person who died as a result of a two-vehicle crash on Pound Road in Hornby on 1 November.
Selwyn Herewini Cassidy, 58, of Christchurch died from his injuries in hospital on 3 November.
Enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
Fatality following serious crash, New Plymouth
A man has died following a crash Thursday involving a car and a cyclist on Gover Street, New Plymouth.
Police responded to the incident about 12.30pm.
The cyclist was initially transported to hospital in a serious condition, however he has now sadly died.
Enquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.
Fatality following crash, Te Irirangi Drive
A man has died following a serious crash on Te Irirangi Drive on 6 November.
The crash, where a motorcycle struck a pole, occurred about 7am.
The man was transported to hospital with critical injuries however has sadly now died.

Missing person, Manukau Harbour
Search and rescue operations have resumed today around the Manukau Harbour, as the missing person remains outstanding.
Poor weather conditions around the Auckland region meant search efforts were suspended on Friday.
Police Eagle Helicopter and Coastguard Air Patrol will resume aerial searches today, assisted by surf life saving crews.
Police are aware there are members of the local community also participating in a search today.
Police are in communication with this group to ensure they do not put themselves or others at risk.
Police would like to remind those assisting in search efforts to please follow all water safety measures, with an emphasis on life jackets and at least two forms of communication.

Person dies following water related-incident – Tauranga
A person has died after being located unresponsive in the water at Moturiki Island, Tauranga this afternoon.
Emergency services responded to the beach at 1.50pm.
First aid was provided to the person at the scene however sadly they were unable to be revived.
