Christchurch Police looking for offender with red shoes
Christchurch Police are hoping that an offender’s distinctive red shoes will lead to the person’s successful identification.
Police allege the person is responsible for a night-time burglary at the Cashel Street Hugo Boss Christchurch retail store on Thursday 7 July.
The offender smashed one of the store’s front doors to gain entry just before 8pm. Once inside they stole items including watches and cuff links.
CCTV footage of the person indicates they were acting alone and wearing all black clothing, a blue surgical mask and red shoes.

Aggravated robbery – Mosgiel
Police are investigating an aggravated robbery at a bar on Gordon Road in Mosgiel on Friday 26 August.
The robbery was reported to Police just before 11pm 26 August, after two people entered the bar, one armed with a firearm.
The offenders demanded that bar staff give them money from the till, and left the bar with a quantity of cash.
As well as the bar staff, there were a small number of customers in the bar at the time.
Fortunately nobody was injured in the incident.
Police would like to hear from anyone who was in the Gordon Road area around the time of the robbery and may have seen something which could assist our enquiries.

Additional charges laid in relation to Operation Cobalt arrest
Police in Christchurch have laid further charges as part of Operation Cobalt, targeting organised crime groups.
A 25-year-old woman appeared in the Christchurch District Court today charged with conspiring with a 36-year-old man to commit burglaries of several commercial premises in Christchurch.
The man was a patched member of the Mongols gang at the time of the conspiracy. He is currently remanded in custody charged with blackmail, possession of a restricted weapon, and drug dealing.
The man will appear in the Christchurch District Court on 14 September 2022 and will face an additional charge of receiving stolen property.
It is alleged that on 20 June 2022 he was in possession of a car transporter trailer valued at $40,000, which had been stolen from a commercial premises in Christchurch earlier that day.
Since the arrest of the man earlier this year, Police have become aware of several additional instances of intimidation and blackmail allegedly carried out by the Mongols gang.
The Police investigation into this offending is ongoing and further charges are being considered.

Fatal crash, Dipton
A person has died after their car rolled into a waterway off a Southland road.
Emergency services were called to McDonald Road in Dipton West, near Break Neck Road, about 10am on Saturday 27 August.
The sole occupant of the vehicle was unresponsive and was unable to be revived.
Name release – Fatal crash, SH 2, Wairarapa
Police can now name the man who died in a crash on State Highway 2 between Carterton and Greytown on 24 August.
He was Nepia Poutu, aged 30, from Masterton.
Enquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.
Fatal Crash – Wairakei, Taupo
A person has died in a single motorcycle crash in Wairakei, near Taupo.
Emergency services were called to the scene on Poihipi Road around 1:45pm yesterday.
The motorcycle rider died at the scene.
The circumstances of the crash will be investigated.
Information Sought – Robbery, Invercargill
Police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed a robbery on Crinan Street last night, Sunday 28 August.
At around 6.30pm a man entered a dairy on Crinan Street and demanded money from the shop attendant.
The man then left on foot, heading east towards Ness Street with a quantity of cash, pouches of tobacco and cigarettes.
The shop attendant is badly shaken but uninjured.
Police are conducting enquiries in the area and would like to hear from anyone who has information that could assist.

Fatal crash, Pukekohe
One person has died following an incident involving a pedestrian and a bus on King St, Pukekohe.
Emergency services were alerted around 9.40am.
Sadly the pedestrian has died at the scene.
The Serious Crash Unit is in attendance.
Diversions are in place and motorists are advised to expect delays.
No further information is available at this stage.
