Britain’s lowest-income households are facing a decline in their standard of living under Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s Labour government, despite promises to improve household finances, according to new economic analysis reported by several UK media outlets.
Data cited by The Telegraph (UK) and compiled by ‘Retail Economics’ shows that disposable income for the poorest households fell by 2.1 percent between July 2024, when Labour took office, and October 2025. In contrast, discretionary spending among the wealthiest households rose by 10.3 percent over the same period, pointing to a growing divide between rich and poor.
Researchers say lower-income families are still struggling with the lasting impact of sharp price rises in recent years, with wages and household finances failing to catch up with the higher cost of everyday goods. Younger households on low to middle incomes are reported to feel worse off than they did five years ago.
The outlook offers little immediate relief. The Office for Budget Responsibility has forecast that real household disposable income will grow by just 0.6 percent in 2026, citing slowing real wage growth alongside rising taxes.
Labour’s November budget introduced around £26 billion in tax increases, a move widely criticised as a reversal of elections promises not to increase tax. At the same time, Chancellor Rachel Reeves confirmed plans to increase defence spending to 2.6 percent of GDP, while acknowledging that the budget would place additional pressure on ordinary households.
Public confidence in the government’s economic management is also weakening. Recent YouGov polling shows only 15 percent of Britons believe Starmer is doing a good job as prime minister. With local elections scheduled for May, voting intention surveys indicate both Labour and the Conservatives are trailing the Reform UK party by more than eight points.

Starmer is a junior cuck member of The Trilateral Commission.
He’s simply following orders to destroy the UK to facilitate the 2030 globalist technocratic takeover.
Happy New Year!

Britain’s economy is irretrievable
Some people are saying it will take 100 years – which is a long time
Generations

Any POM who had a brain left years ago
It is a dreary damp and isolated island
And of course Nigel Mirage has all the answers
Britain stole from the rest of the world to economically enrich themselves over 400+ years of colonialism.
Of course it will take generations to heal.
The Starmer regime is wholly tyrannical and backing the US/Israel war criminals……poverty, homelessness, oppression, war all follow in its filthy wake……
The globalist British empire is being dismantled by Trump. He has just taken back the oil that USA built in Venezuela and freeing the people from Communism and Hell under the cabals, Islamist, socialist regime (they lost everything and were in Hell). Venezuela people are celebrating in the streets!! BTW the mainstream media will not show you this part so I recommend using the No 1 application for news – X (former twitter).
