The 21-year-old accused from Gisborne has interim name suppression.

The man appeared in the Auckland District Court this morning. He will appear for sentencing at a later date.

The victim, a grandmother of six, told legacy media that she was ‘feeling very good today. I’m glad he has pleaded guilty. That made me feel a lot better.’

She suffered a concussion and facial bruising as a result of the attack. Photos of her facial injuries and the assault, which included repeated punches to her head, circulated widely on social media.

The incident occured at a #LetWomenSpeak event organised by UK women’s rights activist Posie Parker in Auckland’s Albert Park in March.

Twitter user @SimonRAnderson1 was in court today. He described the defendant’s demeanour as ‘calm and relaxed, unlike last time.’

‘It seemed to me the judge merely rubber-stamped whatever the defendant’s barrister Emma Priest suggested. The police prosecutor did not speak AT ALL throughout the hearing.’

    • Basically all the worst things Orwell wrote about are slowly unfolding before our eyes.

And the sheer f@cking hubris in their eyes as they insist we’re somehow still a democracy… absolutely terrifying.

Lockdowns and vaccine mandates were just the warm up.

God help us in the years ahead.
