Samoa and New Zealand are in talks regarding compensation for communities affected by the sinking of the New Zealand Navy ship HMNZS Manawanui off Upolu’s southwest coast in October.
Samoa’s Ministry of Works CEO, Fui Tupai Mau Simanu, stated that the Marine Pollution Advisory Committee’s impact assessment is complete, with a report being finalised.
While Samoa’s compensation request details remain undisclosed, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has refrained from commenting, focusing instead on “supporting Samoa’s response”.
Fuel removal operations are ongoing, with the safety buffer zone around the wreckage maintained, though improvements in water quality and a reduced fishing ban zone have been reported.
Challenges, including weather, continue to affect the timeline for fuel extraction.
😂. Will the DEI pilot who crashed the vessel due to complete lack of competence – she was awarded the job due to sex and sexual orientation – be expected to face the music? Cough up the dough? Nope, that’s on the tax payers.
lol, you’re expecting a woman to ever be held accountable for something.
What country are YOU living in?😆
Indeed it is a rare occasion.
Why is that?
Male privilege, brah.
Male privilege 😎
Justified request from Samoa. New Zealand should immediately end all DEI programs.
That DEI lesbian should be fired and held accountable for negligence. You are not captain of a vessel with zero responsibilities.
