A second Melbourne teenager, Holly Bowles, 19, has died following a methanol poisoning tragedy in the Laotian town of Vang Vieng, bringing the death toll to six.
Holly passed away in a Bangkok hospital after being on life support, just a day after her friend Bianca Jones succumbed to the same poisoning.
Among the deceased are individuals from Britain, Denmark, and the U.S., with over a dozen others seriously ill.
Methanol, often illegally added to alcoholic beverages in some countries, proved lethal in this incident. The tragedy has sparked outrage and grief across Australia, with support pouring in for the victims’ families.
