
Shamar was due to stand trial in the Auckland High Court next month.
27 year old Harrap went missing on her daily walk in Mt. Albert on 23rd September last year. Her body was found several hours later.
Shamar faced three charges – murder, sexual violation and driving a motor vehicle dangerously. He will be sentenced on all three charges in March 2023, with the Crown indicating they will seek a sentence of Preventive Detention in relation to the sexual violation charge.
