The names of the two police officers killed at a property in the state’s Western Downs have been released.
They were Constable Rachel McCrow aged 26, and Constable Matthew Arnold aged 29.
The two were attending a property at Wieambilla as part of a search for missing school principal Nathaniel Train, when the were ambushed and slain by two men and a woman. Train, from NSW, was last seen by his family a year ago. NSW police requested the two Queensland constables attend the property. It is not known if Train was at the property during the incident
The attackers also shot and killed a member of the public. A six-hour stand-off ensued before the three were shot dead by members of the Queensland police tactical response team.
Yep, there was no way those dudes were getting out of that stand off alive..
Awful for it to have happened to two people still so young.
