Top 10 most embarrassing moments from the Democratic National Convention, Day 2

Just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse, it did. Brace yourself.

Day two of the Democratic National Convention has rolled around and delivered a new level of embarrassment. The Vigilant Fox on X compiled the top ten most cringeworthy moments, and let’s just say, the Democrats outdid themselves.

  • #10 – Bernie Sanders Calls Out the DNC to Its Face: In classic Bernie fashion, the senator from Vermont didn’t hold back, declaring, “Billionaires in both parties should not be able to buy elections, INCLUDING primary elections.” The room went silent as Sanders’ words cut through the air, leaving everyone to wonder—did Bernie just throw his own party under the bus? Yep, he sure did.
  • #9 – Kamala’s Sermon on Police Reform: Vice President Kamala Harris took to the stage to proclaim, “It is outdated, wrong, and backward to think more police creates more safety.” Bold words, especially considering the convention was surrounded by a small army of police officers, called in to handle the protests outside. The irony? Priceless.
  • #8 – Jake Tapper Exposes a Whopper: CNN’s Jake Tapper found himself in hot water after calling out Minnesota Governor Tim Walz for lying about using IVF. The network scrambled to defend Walz, turning what should’ve been a minor blip into a full-blown PR disaster. When CNN goes into meltdown mode, you know it’s bad.
  • #7 – New Jersey’s Delegate Dilemma: In one of the most surreal moments of the night, New Jersey had a man dressed as a woman announce the delegates. Things quickly went south when he got tangled in his pronouns and fell into a rant about Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS). The audience cringed as he struggled to remember what he was supposed to say.
  • #6 – California’s Kamala Conundrum: The California delegation had one job: vote for their home-state hero, Kamala Harris. Instead, they initially chose to pass, leaving everyone wondering if they’d been struck by collective amnesia or if this was just another awkward moment in a long string of them. An X Community Note explained the pass as a “tradition for the nominee’s home state to pass so it can go last.”
  • #5 – The “Do Something” Chant: As the DNC crowd chanted, “Do something!” they seemed to forget one tiny detail—their party has been running the country for the past 3.5 years. The irony was lost on no one as the plea echoed through the hall, reminding everyone that maybe, just maybe, the Democrats should’ve done something already.
  • #4 – Tim Walz: The Bumbling Dad: Governor Tim Walz took to the stage and played the part of the “bumbling white dad” in every cheesy TV commercial ever made. His over-the-top enthusiasm and clumsy delivery had everyone wincing. It’s unclear if Walz was trying to be funny or if he was just that out of touch.
  • #3 – Gavin Newsom’s Pelosi Praise Fest: California Governor Gavin Newsom took a break from governing the Golden State to declare California “the great state of NANCY PELOSI” before launching into a two-minute love fest for Kamala Harris. If there was an award for most gratuitous flattery, Newsom would’ve taken home the gold.
  • #2 – Matt Walsh’s DEI Journey: Conservative commentator Matt Walsh somehow managed to crash the DNC and make a surprise appearance on CNN, proudly proclaiming his progress on his DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) journey. The awkwardness was palpable as the camera panned to a crowd that clearly had no idea how to react.
  • #1 – Raymond Lopez’s Live TV Takedown: In the most shocking moment of the night, Chicago City Council member Raymond Lopez took to the airwaves to criticize his own party, declaring the convention a complete failure. Representing the 15th Ward of Chicago, Lopez didn’t hold back, and the DNC’s attempts to spin his comments were nothing short of cringe-worthy.
