Trump warns of U.S. military strike in Nigeria over Christian persecution

U.S. President Donald Trump has threatened military action against Nigeria, accusing its government of failing to protect Christians from Islamist militants.

In a Truth Social post, Trump ordered the Department of War to “prepare for possible action,” claiming the US “may very well go into that now disgraced country, guns-a-blazing, to completely wipe out the Islamic terrorists.”

His comments followed the country’s designation as a “Country of Particular Concern” under US religious freedom laws, citing alleged mass killings of Christians.

Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu rejected the accusations, saying his government defends freedom of worship and that violence affects both Christians and Muslims alike.

His spokesperson dismissed Trump’s remarks as “a gross exaggeration” and urged Washington to support Nigeria’s counterterrorism efforts rather than threaten intervention. Nigerian officials also described the US president’s statements as part of an “orchestrated game,” while confirming that Trump and Tinubu are expected to meet soon to discuss counterinsurgency cooperation and the broader fight against terrorism.

  1. What would Jesus say to these so called black followers of Christ – Disciple followers not Apostles – Christian an English word?
Matthew 7:23 “And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”
Revelation 13:8 “And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.”

  2. The original church began in the bible from Acts chapter 2 onward. And these followers of Jesus never engaged in war or in killing any other people. They instead followed the example of Jesus (Luke 22: 49-51) in avoiding war and in healing the harm done by war. The concept of “military chaplains” etc never existed in the bible but was instead invented by western religious systems which called themselves Christian. Trump remains an idiot if he thinks that military action fixes Christian persecution. This is just dead religion. Anybody who knows the history of the church understands that the blood of the martyrs is the seed of the church.

  3. Trump now wants to target Nigeria as well as Venezuela. I guess it is just a coincidence that both countries are endowed with oil.
