Community and Voluntary Sector Minister Louise Upston has announced the appointment of Roger Holmes Miller and Tarita Hutchinson to the Charities Registration Board.
The new appointments follow recent changes to the Charities Act 2005, which expanded the Board from three to five members to “enhance its ability to manage decisions” regarding the registration and deregistration of charitable entities.
Roger Holmes Miller, a barrister and solicitor, and former Chair of the Board, brings a wealth of experience, having previously served nine years on the Board. Known for his extensive governance background, Mr. Miller has chaired organisations including the Performing Arts Foundation of Wellington, Ski Racing New Zealand, and Mary Potter Hospice.
Tarita Hutchinson has expertise in fiduciary services, legal administration of trusts, and philanthropic leadership. She currently serves as a Trustee for Bay Financial Mentors and has held executive roles at Southpac Group.
