Upper Hutt burglary – residents at home when house broken into

Upper Hutt news
FILE PHOTO.

Police investigating a burglary last night at a Clouston Park Road, Upper Hutt address are asking for the public’s help with information that might assist the police investigation.

This morning police received a report that about 11pm last night, an address had been entered while the residents were home, and at least one bedroom is thought to have been entered while the occupant was asleep in it.

While nothing was taken, the occupants were understandably shaken by the incident, and Police are now working to establish the full circumstances of what has occurred.

Police would like to take the opportunity to remind residents to keep security top of mind and to lock doors and windows at night, even if you’re going to be home.

Anyone in the area please check private CCTV or dashcam footage from around 11pm last night that might have captured any unusual activity.

Additionally anyone who was in the area who saw anything that may assist police enquiries is urged to get in touch.

You can call 105 and reference file number 230110/5105, or make a report online using the ‘update report’ function.

  1. A timely reminder for us all that this sort of thing will happen a lot more in the months and years ahead. It is going to get rough out there as financial pressures mount and jobs are lost. More than ever we not only need to be vigilant but caring for our neighbours. As the saying goes, what goes around comes around…

  2. We can thank these politician idiots and their COVID games for growing crime. As desperation and poverty spiral out of control things will get much worse. I predict these cretins will remain blind and incapable, in the face of Kiwi’s growing misery.

We need a new, more accountable system of governance in this country. One that separates the wheat from the chaff, and lets the people more readily remove an incompetent government from office. Without proper accountability, we are lost.
