US forces have boarded and taken control of an oil tanker linked to Iran during an operation in the Indian Ocean, according to a statement from the US Department of Defense.
Posting on social media, the department said American personnel carried out a “right-of-visit” boarding on the stateless tanker *M/T Majestic X*, which it alleges was transporting Iranian oil. The operation forms part of ongoing efforts to disrupt networks accused of supporting Iran.
A maritime interdiction typically involves naval forces stopping and inspecting ships suspected of breaching international law or posing security concerns.
Washington says it has conducted numerous such operations since enforcing a blockade around the Strait of Hormuz, with many of the interceptions occurring far from Iranian waters, including in the wider Indian Ocean region.
The latest action follows a similar incident earlier this week. On 21 April, US forces intercepted and boarded another tanker, the *M/T Tifani*, within its Indo-Pacific command zone.
The Defense Department said operations would continue globally, targeting ships believed to be involved in activities that provide support to Iran, regardless of where they are operating.

Giving others some ideas…..
We wonder how many tankers have been quietly armed with Miniguns that are hidden from sight, similar to the Q-Ships of World War One…

So piracy is alive and well in the 21st century, who would have thought. Suffice to say, if this is what the US calls diplomacy, more like gunship diplomacy, I’d say their chances of peace are very much sunk. I wonder too, how long nations like China and Russia, will go on tolerating this nonsense, from these global economy wrecking fools?
