Whistleblower release – researchers question integrity of data

A number of prominent health researchers in the medical freedom movement have questioned the integrity of data released by whistleblower Winston Smith.

Smith, an insider who was developing systems for a vaccine payment system, collated data he obtained during the project which he said showed a link between the mRNA gene therapy rollout and New Zealand’s rising excess death rates.

His findings were released in a video interview with New Zealand Loyal Party leader Liz Gunn on Saturday.

The video was shared widely and attracted a lot of interest comment and reaction both here and overseas. Te Whatu Ora boss Margie Apa released a statement denouncing ‘conspiracy theorists’ for spreading and ‘disemminating false and harmful misinformation’. Her sentiments were later echoed by new Health Minister Shane Reti.

‘We assure people there is no evidence whatsoever that vaccination is responsible for excess mortality in New Zealand and that they can continue to have confidence in vaccines,’ said Apa.

Voices For Freedom released a statement last night which provided further background to the saga. The organisation said Smith had been in contact with them for around two years and had been working with a number of experts. At some point while this work advanced Smith reached out to others. This included Gunn, who he believed could help with releasing the data under parliamentary privilege should she have been successful in this year’s general election.

Gunn was not able to secure a seat, but released a ‘teaser video’ in late October, which VFF said was against Smith’s wishes.

Whistleblowers are protected in New Zealand under the ‘Whistleblower’ Act 2022, but there are requirements which have to be satisfied before those protections can be claimed – most notably, the whistleblower must first make the disclosure to an ‘appropriate authority’ – in this case most likely the Ministry of Health or the Health and Disability Commissioner (Schedule 2).

VFF said experts had raised questions about the data. In an interview on Reality Check Radio on Friday Dr. Matt Shelton of NZDSOS recommended everyone to ‘wait for the data to be appropriately analysed.’

VFF went on to say:

‘Nick Hudson of PANDA has also voiced concerns, noting his team’s questions after looking at the data and the need for a more definitive analysis. Other analysts, including Norman Fenton and Igor Chudov have also now queried the data set, noting it is an incomplete data set and that the data that is there suggests a biased sample.’

Chudov went one step further today stating parts of the data had been ‘removed intentionally.’

Chudov published the deep dive on his Substack, and drew the following conclusions:

• ‘The “whistleblower data” is missing huge chunks of information that should logically be present.
• Liz Gunn of NZ is misinterpreting it by trying to pass normal nursing home deaths as evidence of “super deadly batches” and “mass vaccine casualties”
• The data has problems that are incompatible with the story of its origin. It cannot be a full snapshot from a working payment database. Therefore, the story of its origin is suspect.
• The actual vaccine casualties may reside in the missing pieces of data that the “database” does not provide.’

In a lengthy tweet today US-based Health researcher Betsy McDonel Herr PhD also urged caution:

‘At first look — too much missing data and anomalies. Too many discrepancies with other data points and facts we have about NZ. No wonder the host for the data set wants no one else looking under the hood, rather just uncritical acceptance of the so-called conclusions.’

Other prominent statistical researchers, such as Nick Hudson, @USMortality and Edward Dowd had also raised doubts over the completeness of the data, Herr said.

Like Chudov, Herr questioned whether the leak was a ‘psy-op’, for she believed there, ‘may indeed be a scam underfoot. One aim potentially to undermine you, leaders in the movement.’

Steve Kirsch said however there was no problem with the data itself, but in the way it has been interpreted and delivered.

There is nothing wrong with the New Zealand data.

There are only people who don’t know how to interpret the data that was delivered. That is the problem.
