Wife killer Nai Yin Xue denied parole for sixth time

Nai Yin Xue, who strangled his wife and abandoned his young daughter ‘Pumpkin’ at an Australian train station before fleeing to the U.S., has been denied parole for the sixth time.

Xue, imprisoned for 17 years for the 2007 murder of An An Liu in Auckland, admitted at his latest hearing that he lost control due to suspicions of an affair.

Despite expressing remorse, the parole board found his explanations “unusual and very worrying,” particularly his past denials and conflicting statements.

The board also cited concerns over his truthfulness and lack of approved accommodation.

Xue, who was captured in the U.S. after a nationwide manhunt, will remain in prison until at least December when his case will be reviewed again
