Winston throws his support behind real estate agent refusing to take ‘woke’ Maori values course

Real estate agent Janet Dickson has refused to participate in a Māori values course, with Deputy PM Winston Peters labeling it as “woke madness” on social media.

This refusal led to Dickson facing a possible five-year license cancellation by the Real Estate Authority (REA), citing the refusal as a failure to meet continuing education requirements under the Real Estate Agents Act 2008.

The REA stated that these requirements are mandatory, and exemptions are only granted under exceptional circumstances that must have ‘rigorous’ evidenced.

Dickson is challenging the decision with the support of Hobson’s Pledge, a lobby group led by former National Party leader Don Brash, which is fundraising for a judicial review of her case.

Peters has also publicly defended Dickson, criticising the enforcement of what he says is ‘cultural wokeness’ and its implications for personal freedom and professional advancement.

The controversy surrounds the Te Kākano course, described as a 90-minute online training video aimed at providing an introduction to Māori culture, language, customs, and the Treaty of Waitangi within the context of real estate.

The REA has listed Te Kākano as an elective topic for next year.

‘NZFirst campaigned warning this was what was going to happen and the media refused to report it – a dangerous future of cultural wokeness being forced upon people with threats of being cancelled and losing your job or promotions if you didn’t comply. This is the reality now. And we intend to stop it,’ Peters tweeted.

  1. So glad you’re focussed on the important things Winnie. Oh no, a 90 minute online course. It’s not like you are going be indoctrinated. You could mindlessly click through if you didn’t want to take it in.

Most vocations have parts of learning that seem unimportant or trivial to some. Get over yourselves.

How about holding some peoples feet to the fire over the covid response, or their expert opinions which have been shown to be anything but.

Oh, thats right you were part of that sorry story in 2020 weren’t you.

Baubles for the cult of personality please

  2. Personally I’ve now finally the reached the point of zero tolerance for the retarded indoctrinated eco-communist woke idiots.

Hopefully they will continue to be injected with the ‘safe and effective’ MRNA pharmaceutical ‘booster’ products until extinct.

    Fingers crossed.
