A woman has been arrested and charged following a stabbing at a central Wellington bar that left a man with serious injuries.
Police say the incident occurred at about 1.30am on Saturday 13 December at the Ace of Spades bar on Allen Street.
Officers were called to the venue after reports that a man had been stabbed during an altercation involving a small group of patrons.
The victim was stabbed in the abdomen and suffered serious injuries. He was taken to hospital, where he received treatment.
A 34-year-old woman has now been charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. She is due to appear in the Wellington District Court on Monday 22 December.
Police say their investigation has established that several members of the public were present at the time of the altercation and may have witnessed what happened or captured video footage.
Investigators are urging anyone with information to contact police via 105, either online or by phone, quoting file number 251213/4525. Information can also be provided anonymously through Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111.
