54-year-old Vincent Ding Peng Hii, has been sentenced to two years and two months in prison for running a six-year immigration fraud scheme that brought 24 foreign workers to New Zealand using fake job offers and falsified business records.
Operating between 2015 and 2021, Hii used multiple companies and rented office spaces across several cities to create the appearance of legitimate skilled employment in case of immigration checks. He pleaded guilty to 24 charges of supplying false or misleading information to immigration authorities.
Immigration New Zealand is now reassessing the visa status of those affected.
