Hovering over the crevasse: Urgent open letter to NZ First – the Gene Tech Bill

At a public meeting in early August it was heartening to hear New Zealand First MP Shane Jones announce that NZF is not going to proceed with the Gene Technology Bill. This assurance was followed up with the phrase, “not unless it was safe”, or words to that effect.

On 13 August 2025, Paul Brennan interviewed Shane on Reality Check Radio where (at 21.55) Shane enlarged on what he had said at the public meeting. He reiterated: Unless there are suitable safeguards in terms of this Gene Tech Bill, especially in respect of food, we have no commitment to passing the Bill without those safeguards. That is what is in the Coalition Agreement; that is what I said. He then added: “. . . some proponents want us to provide the opportunity for upgrading the capacity of the medicine industry to keep us healthier and alive for longer. It’s when however it gets into the food chain via our agriculture or related matters, and that is what Mark Paterson, on our behalf, on the Select Committee with Jenny Marcroft, that’s what they’ve been working through. And Winston Peters has been very, very, clear. Without honouring the words of the Coalition Agreement, the Party won’t be voting for it. So it’s come down to honouring the words that we signed up to.”

But in the Coalition Agreement, NZF didn’t give a specific point of differentiation between food and medicine. So there shouldn’t be a point of differentiation now. The NZF coalition agreement had the qualifier: “ensuring strong protections for human health and the environment.“ (Click on the link here and scroll to p7 of the pdf on the left of the document, bullet-point 5).

Based on Shane’s assurances, the majority of New Zealanders would understand that NZF will surely vote no and, if that happens, it is great news. BUT, there is cause for serious concern with hints that Shane gave (my highlights in bold above) that suggest NZF may attempt to adjust the wording of the Gene Tech legislation, then allege it is ‘safe’ and subsequently acquiesce to the clauses on genetically modified medicines.

To honour your intentions as a Party, it is imperative that each member of NZF votes NO to the Gene Technology Bill. Keep your word. It is all unsafe.

Why?

1. Because it is in violation of the genetic blueprint of life that we hold sacred.
2. Because changes with gene technology are irreversible and it would change humanity forever. Nobody has the right to do that.
3. Because there is no ’dollar-each-way’ here. It is not one or the other. It is both. That is what the coalition words state. Your coalition agreement gives the proviso that there must be strong protections in place for human health as well as the environment. There aren’t any meaningful protections in place.
4. Because it is impossible to prove that genetic medicines are ‘safe’ even if the most miniscule genetic alterations are made. (Ref: RCR interview with Dr Hatchard here: 8 mins 47sec.) Also please reference my earlier article on the medical section of the Gene Tech Bill that focuses on the horrific clauses of gene-tech ‘medicine’ here.
5. Because, since 2021, the NZ government has known the first gene-altering jabs enforced so recklessly were neither safe or effective. There have been innumerable pages of factual information and Open Letters that NZDSOS has sent to you and other key MPs, since this debacle began. Review their factual evidence to the Royal Commission of Inquiry 2. Also Reality Check Radio’s extensive evidence, the Health Forum evidence, the NZDSOS Truth Project, and Open Letters that have been written to the government from many Kiwis who cared enough to make it known, along with groups in the freedom movement, as well as whistle-blower Barry Young, a giant amongst us, who risked everything to provide New Zealand with the factual data of the harm and death that the gene-tech jab caused.
6. Because the evidence of harm of the gene-altering ‘Covid’ bio-weapon (as Dr David Martin accurately calls it) is undeniable, yet they are still being given, they continue to maim and kill, and they continue to be touted as ‘safe and effective’. So, if you sign off on the medical side of the Gene Tech Bill for more of these bio-weapons to be administered it could surely only be viewed as treason and intentional harm causing death couldn’t it?
7. Because the gene technology jabs should have been made illegal in 2021 when the government knew they weren’t safe or effective. Instead, the government is attempting to pass legislation that potentially enforces New Zealanders to take more, even if there is just the ‘threat’ of a ‘pandemic’. This again moves into the realm of treason and again confirms that this is NOT about health.
8. Because it attacks our spiritual essence and can irreversibly alter the unique essence of each human being.
9. Because it causes irreversible consequences to human beings that can destroy humanity and all we hold dear.

Further reasons are in almost every clause of the demonic Gene Technology legislation in regard to human health and agriculture. Some of the main ones are below. With this in mind, NZF cannot, by any stretch of the imagination, consider any part of the Gene Technology Bill ‘safe’.

Additional reasons

There are many additional reasons why it is imperative New Zealand First votes no to both the agricultural and medical sections of the legislation. The details are in this article. It specifically focuses on the dangers of the medical section of the Gene Tech legislation, provides direct links to the specific clauses, and how these conclusions have been arrived at, which is why it is important to read. It is vital information. Some of the key points are summarised below, but it is essential you read this in conjunction with the full article. The clauses aren’t in chronological order as the legislation is obtuse and seems out of sequence.

1. Medical Activity is defined in Clause 8: The definition of ‘medical activity’ has serious implications with regard to the NZ Bill of Rights 1990, the Precautionary Principle, the Nuremberg Code, the Hippocratic Oath, and all that we hold sacred in Nature and Life. According to this Bill, ‘medical activity’ means an activity involving administering a regulated organism or gene technology to a human, to enable the use of a medical device on humans, or to enable the undertaking of clinical trials on humans and includes the administration of medicines using a gene technology or regulated organisms. It is deceiving. Most would think medical activity was to do with a medical treatment they understood, not potentially having a genetically modifying device put in them or a ‘trial’ done on them with genetic organisms. How many will be oblivious to what ‘medical activity’ could cover? According to this clause, ‘medical activity’ means any of the five points as defined in the link. Will this be explained to New Zealanders — including you and your family and loved ones? It wasn’t last time.
2. In the medical section, the Bill sets out six tiers of gene technology under Risk tiers and authorisations, with the final two being the most alarming which are: a. Mandatory medical activity authorisations b. Emergency authorisations.
3. Mandatory medical activity authorisations: This covers a ceding of NZ’s sovereignty as the New Zealand Regulator is legally required to grant authorisation to a person to use regulated organisms or gene technology on human beings for a ‘therapeutic’ purpose if two overseas regulators recognised by the New Zealand Regulator have already approved a regulated organism gene technology in their countries.
4. New Zealand has one check and balance to the automatic overseas approval pass-through and that is if the New Zealand Regulator considers the granting of the authorisation would result in imminent risk of death, serious injury to people or serious damage to the environment (Clause 50(3)). With Covid injections still being administered — despite the shocking amount of injury, harm and death — it doesn’t leave one with hope that the NZ Regulator would use this ‘one check and balance’.
5. Clause 50 of the Bill also bypasses genetic consequences and safety checks as they pertain to New Zealanders and cedes our country’s decision-making power (sovereignty) regarding biotechnologies for humans to two foreign decision makers — whether New Zealand needs it or not.
6. ‘A recognised overseas authority’ is not specified in the Bill. Instead, and in a very circular self-fulfilling prophecy, the Regulator can decide if a person is so recognised by them (as long as they are operating in a comparable manner to the Regulator and under a comparable legislative framework (Clause 57(2)). Interpreting that as written, it means that if two people recognised by the New Zealand Regulator have already approved a regulated organism gene technology in their countries, the New Zealand Regulator will be required to grant the mandatory medical authorisation to Group A to administer to persons equivalent to Group B (Clause 57(1)). Again, this cedes our sovereignty.
7. In Clause 50(1) there is no specific definition in the Bill for the ‘group A’ or ‘group B’ mentioned, but it is inferred in Clause 50, that Group A is the person who is given the authorisation by the New Zealand Regulator to conduct the medical activity (to administer a regulated organism or gene technology to humans for a ‘therapeutic’ purpose) on persons fitting within Group B. Could this, at its worst, mean a gene technology could be authorised to the Ministry of Health (Group A) to administer gene technology to all New Zealanders (Group B)? Is this what is intended?
8. While any medical activity involving a gene technology will still have to be approved under the Medicines Act 1981 by the Ministry of Health’s regulator Medsafe (Clause 16), the Medicines Act 1981 may soon be amended to include a similar ceding of sovereignty provision if the following provision — agreed to by National and NZ First in their Coalition Agreement — is included in the Medicines Act: Require Medsafe to approve new pharmaceuticals within 30 days of them being approved by at least two overseas regulatory agencies recognised by New Zealand.
9. Remarkably, the clause of the National and NZ First Coalition Agreement reads in a very similar way to that proposed in the Gene Tech Bill. If this provision is added to the Medicines Act as well, then any regulation by a New Zealand Regulator for gene tech medicines will be circumvented when overseas Regulators have already approved it. In essence, this means that New Zealand could have “overseas regulators” from Uganda, North Korea, China — or anywhere— approve a gene technology for use in a very short timeframe. How can anyone approve a ‘new pharmaceutical’ in 30 days to ensure it was safe?
10. The last risk tier or authorisation (listed under Risk Tiers and authorisations) is the emergency authorisation provision: Emergency authorisations: where there is an actual or imminent threat to the health and safety of people or to the environment, for example, threat from a disease outbreak or an industrial spillage. The Minister responsible for the Bill when enacted (the Minister) will have the power to grant an emergency authorisation. Based on this, there doesn’t need to be a disease— just a ‘threat’. How can there be such an authorisation if there is no disease? And how can there be a treatment without a ‘disease’?
11. This gives the Minister the power to grant emergency authorisation to a person to carry out an activity in relation to a regulated organism or gene therapy if there is an actual or imminent threat to the health and safety of people or to the environment. The examples given include a threat from a disease outbreak or an industrial spillage. This seems to be written in such a way that a disease outbreak does not need to have occurred. Just the ‘threat’ of one, or an ‘industrial spillage’. A threat? According to a ‘relevant Minister’? That’s a bit general. Based on what proven evidence? An industrial spillage? Of what? A deadly pathogen? If so, why would that be permitted into the country? Or is the government intending to manufacture gene technology jabs/bio-weapons here too, and could this refer to ‘leaks from labs’ in our country? Doesn’t this wording sound eerily close to the World Health Organisation’s (WHO) recommendation for use of a gene-technology ‘vaccine’ for even just the ‘threat of a pandemic’ that the Director General of the WHO is authorised to declare?The WHO cannot be considered to be independent while it receives most funding from private interests including biotech, pharmaceutical companies and personalities such as Bill Gates whose ‘philanthropic organisations’ are heavily focused on manufacturing and administering vaccines, for example, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the Gates funded Gavi Alliance. From 2000-2022, 88% of the WHO’s philanthropic donations were from Gates Associated foundations. Bill Gates has said the world is over-populated. And he wants to ‘vaccinate’ the planet to ‘save everyone’ if there may be a ‘threat’?
12. Clause 242-24D Under this clause: An application may be made to the Minister for approval to distribute, sell or advertise during a special emergency a medicine or medical device that is or contains a hazardous substance, a new organism, or a regulated organism. It appears to only require the approval of the Minister.Worksafe defines hazardous as something that can harm people if it enters the body through contact, being inhaled, or ingested. The effects can range from mild to life threatening and can be immediate or long term.So a ‘new organism’ or ‘a regulated organism’ could be injected in an ‘emergency’? There is no further explanation on the definition of ‘organism’ but the everyday definition of it is a ‘living thing’. Just what ‘living thing’ does the government have in mind?
13. Clause 60 (refer to #16 in this link) allows the government to keep information from the public in regard to the Gene Technology legislation, under a variety of ‘reasons’.
14. Clause 61 allows for information regarding the genetic ‘medicines’ they may want to enforce on the public to be kept confidential. What exactly? The contents? The fact they harm and kill? Everyone has the right to body autonomy. They have a right to accept or reject a ‘medicine’ and key information to that decision is to know the contents of it. How is it ‘safe’ when omitting to disclose contents and side effects?
15. Clause 187 protects anyone who was involved with this legislation from civil and criminal liability. Why would that be needed if it was ‘safe’?
16. No Minister or anyone in parliament is required to disclose any vested interest or lobbying by those with vested interests. Why?
17. New Zealanders will not be fooled by a few word changes that allege it is now ‘safe’. Their trust is at an all-time low and this ghastly legislation validates their concern. There is an uproar on this proposed Gene Tech legislation and that will continue until it is ditched.
18. The proposed Gene Technology legislation — that New Zealand First MPs voted for in the First Reading — allows every human being and all of nature in our country to be contaminated by genetic modification with no meaningful safety or protection.
19. This legislation will irreversibly destroy humanity and the environment.

This is not about health. That’s the cover story

This is about the Internet of Things. Connecting people’s minds with A.I. Without consulting the people, the former Prime Minister signed NZ up with the WEF as a Pilot Project for A.I. A pilot project that ‘reimagines regulation’. This is related to the dystopian goal of merging human minds with A.I. where your mind will not be under your control. This is technology that Musk warned could annihilate humanity, while doing his best to make it happen. Thiel, of Palantir, (which, cryptically, means to watch from afar) has also warned of the destruction of humanity — while busy accumulating billions creating the digital prison of total control where your thoughts and actions are controlled (presumably from afar) as they merge humans into machines.

This legislation is about a gene technology that permits alteration of our DNA — the individual sacred essence of human beings — through mRNA and/or unknown medical devices inserted that “is or contains a hazardous substance, a new organism, or a regulated organism.” It potentially enables biotech and pharma to ‘own’ you through patented inserted products. Yuval Harari (WEF) said the idea of having a soul was over and they intend to hack into our brains and make us think or do what we may not ever consider. (His words, not mine).

This is about captured governments all over the world with key leaders lacking in morals and backbone who have been put in place because these so-called ‘leaders’ cravenly bow to the oligarchs who seek to usher in a dystopian world control, stupidly not realising that this will include them, too. Smart cities, 5G and more, digital IDs, CBDCs, genetic tech jabs/bioweapons — they are all parts of the puzzle that they intend will link humanity to machines.

Respected lawyer Katie Ashby-Koppens states: This Bill is an integral part of globalist control of the world and New Zealand. This is now clear for all to see. No longer hiding in the shadows, the World Economic Forum, the United Nations or its purported agency of health, the World Health Organisation and their funders, big pharma, biotech companies, Bill Gates, and Larry Ellison, are paving the way for there to be no barriers, limited questions and virtually no regulation for their gene-altering products to be administered to New Zealanders, our animals, our flora, our fauna or our agriculture. This is the One Health policy of these’ global organisation’s in action. It seems clear that this is their depraved quest for world power and control.

The world-renowned Catherine Austin-Fitts, of the Solari Report, gives her overview on the global game-plan in this four-minute clip here, explaining how those in global power always have a cover story of how it is going to ‘help’ the health of the individual but in reality they intend to administer another poison to deal with the fall-out of the COVID jab poison already delivered and all of it is just “air cover for building the control grid”. It’s a four-minute watch and well worth it.

In conclusion:

New Zealand First, if you announce that you have had the legislation changed to ensure it is ‘safe’ for the medical section of this legislation — or any other section — Kiwis will call bullshit on that. And rightly so, as it is impossible to state that you can ensure that Gene Tech ‘medicines’ that alter the DNA are safe. The same can be applied to Gene Tech agriculture.

Sign off on any part of this demonic legislation and you will have betrayed New Zealanders. You will have committed an irreversible act of Treason on our country.

You will have aided those who seek to destroy our spiritual essence with the treasured qualities of the soul that include, but are not limited to; empathy, care, kindness, compassion, understanding, innovation, creativity, imagination, protection and caring for all of life, humour, joy, laughter and love.

New Zealand First, you are actively campaigning— well before the elections next year. A good move, as you can see that this government has lost the support of the people, as they cravenly serve the off-shore oligarchs and unelected cartels. Some Kiwis are so annoyed that they are flirting with the traitorous Left. They won’t find any joy there either. Only more heart-ache and pain. Most realise there is no longer a Right and Left. Just a Uni-party dragging the country into unholy alliances with technocrats who deal in treasonous manipulation for their own perceived benefit. You should not be part of that.

So, New Zealand First, again, this is your time to genuinely shine. Prove your critics wrong and vote a resounding NO to ALL of the Gene Technology legislation which is the most treasonous Bill to ever come before parliament. It can never be made safe. That is the truth. You know this.

You have no idea how many New Zealanders — and how many who voted for you — are praying that New Zealand First will honour its commitment and vote a resounding NO to all of this hideous legislation because it will, if passed, irreversibly destroy the health of New Zealanders, our natural food sources and the sacred blueprint of nature.

If you vote in favour of this proposed legislation a second time — even part of it — you will have broken your word and aided and abetted unelected global cabals to tamper with all that is sacred in our country. You will never be able to walk back from that.

New Zealand First, I appeal to you again, because you are in the unique position of being able to put a halt to this threat to our people and our country. You are able to stop an irreversible catastrophe far greater than any threat of war.

Your vote of NO to the complete Bill, has never been more powerful.

This is the crucial time for New Zealand First to shine. To do what is right. To have the guts to put our people and our country, New Zealand, First. This is YOUR time to be courageous. It is YOUR time to do what is imperative for our people and our country.

THIS is the line in the sand. THIS is the Hill. In this place and at this time. There is no other time more important than this — for this is a vote where the sacred protection of Life and all living things hangs in the balance. This is the God-gene that is poised to be irreversibly altered and, if tampered with, will doom humanity.

No one has the right to tamper with our sacred essence.

New Zealand is teetering on the brink. And you have the number of votes required to save your country from this disaster.

You will never have this opportunity again. Please, don’t blow it.

If you vote in favour of this Gene Technology Bill again, we will know — 100% — that you do not walk the talk and each of you will be regarded as hypocrites — Pontius Pilates — never to be trusted again. You will have betrayed those who demonstrably assisted you to get back into power. To vote in favour of any part of it will destroy our people and our country. That includes you and your loved ones, as it is poised to destroy humanity. If you vote for this legislation you will witness the utter destruction it will cause for our country. You will have to live with what you did. It bears repeating: You will be unable to come back from this.

“But if you vote against it in its entirety — even if that means FINDING YOUR POWER and CROSSING THE FLOOR — you will be forever known as a champion of our people and our country. One whom Kiwis could count on as being outstandingly brave enough to do the right thing when our country hovered on the brink of irreversible destruction.

Which one are you?

New Zealand First MPs: Cross the floor if you must, but vote NO to this legislation in its entirety. Ditch it. Do the right thing. To say NO to it in its entirety is the most important action you will ever take. It is your decision that will save our people and our country.

Be the hero.
