Police have received more than 50 calls from irate drivers complaining about the damage to their cars. Work on the road was only recently completed, and remedial works are planned for three nights, 11-13 December with a huge detour around SH16 put in place.
Jet Fuel shortage in time for Christmas
Meanwhile, the Maritime Union has told state-funded legacy media outlet Newshub that a ‘bad batch’ of aviation fuel has forced airlines into rationing on the eve of the holiday season. According to the report an off-specification load of around 25 million litres of jet fuel had to be returned overseas for refining after the closure of Marsden point.
