Trabzonspor president Ertugrul Dogan is among 147 football club officials handed 45-day suspensions by the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) following an investigation into breaches of gambling regulations.
The disciplinary action follows September’s announcement that 448 officials had been provisionally suspended and referred for investigation over allegations of betting while holding positions at clubs in Turkey’s top two divisions during the previous five years.
Under regulations enforced by the TFF, FIFA and UEFA, football officials, players and coaches are prohibited from engaging in betting activities. The federation determined that 147 individuals had violated the rules, temporarily barring them from football-related duties, while the remaining 301 cases were dismissed due to insufficient grounds for disciplinary action.
The latest sanctions form part of a wider crackdown on gambling within Turkish football, following an extensive investigation in November 2025 that resulted in bans for 149 referees and 1,204 players.
