Queenstown skier Alice Robinson opened 2025 with a strong performance, securing third place in the giant slalom at the World Cup event in Slovenia—her 13th career podium.
After a conservative first run left her in fourth, the 23-year-old pushed hard on her second run, striking a balance between aggression and smart tactics to take the leader’s seat briefly.
Swedish Olympic champion Sara Hector secured victory with a dominant +1.42 margin, while Albanian teen Lara Colturi edged Robinson for second.
Despite challenging icy conditions that unsettled many, Robinson thrived, praising the piste’s ideal surface.
With three podiums in four giant slalom races this season, Robinson now sits second in the World Cup standings as she shifts focus to the speed races in St. Anton, Switzerland next weekend.
Alice Robinson has claimed the thirteenth World Cup podium of her career, finishing in 3rd place at the Kranjska Gora Giant Slalom World Cup overnight!
