New Zealand closed out their 2025 football campaign with a 2–0 defeat to Ecuador in New Jersey, holding the South Americans scoreless until halftime before conceding to debut goals from Nilson Angulo and Leonardo Campana.

Goalkeeper Max Crocombe kept the scoreline respectable against an Ecuador side now unbeaten in 15 matches, while the All Whites struggled to threaten at the other end despite several lineup changes from coach Darren Bazeley following their earlier loss to Colombia.

Defender Bill Tuiloma exited with a leg injury as New Zealand finished the year with a record of three wins, six losses and a draw ahead of next month’s FIFA World Cup draw in Washington DC.
