New Zealand’s FIFA World Cup campaign has come to an end after the All Whites were comprehensively beaten 5-1 by Belgium in Vancouver, eliminating them at the group stage.
Needing victory to secure a place in the knockout rounds, the Kiwis were unable to contain the world No.10 side, with Leandro Trossard scoring twice before Kevin De Bruyne added a third to put the result beyond doubt. Eli Just briefly gave New Zealand supporters something to celebrate with his third goal of the tournament late in the match, but Belgium responded immediately through Romelu Lukaku before Alexis Saelemaekers completed the scoring in stoppage time.
The victory sends Belgium through to the round of 32, while the All Whites bow out after their second defeat of the tournament.
Probably a fair result of World no 10 vs World no 85, still proud of them
