Arsenal go top after Eze strike seals tight win

Arsenal returned to the top of the Premier League with a narrow victory over Newcastle United, as an early goal proved decisive in a tense contest at the Emirates.

Eberechi Eze scored inside 10 minutes with a curling effort from the edge of the box following a short corner, giving Mikel Arteta’s side the lead they ultimately defended. Newcastle pushed for an equaliser, creating several chances and missing a late opportunity, but were unable to break through as their losing streak extended.

The win lifts Arsenal three points clear at the summit, though concerns remain after injuries to key players disrupted their rhythm. Despite a dip in attacking control after substitutions, the Gunners held firm to secure a crucial result in the title race.
