Arsenal’s teenage prodigy Max Dowman made his Premier League debut at just 15 years and 235 days, coming off the bench in the 64th minute of a 5-0 victory over Leeds United at the Emirates.
The England U17 international, who had already impressed in pre-season and youth competitions, became only the third player to feature in the league before turning 16, following Ethan Nwaneri and Jeremy Monga.
Dowman looked lively, narrowly missing a goal and winning a late penalty that Viktor Gyokeres converted.
While hailed as a rising star, senior figures like Declan Rice and Ashley Cole urged caution, stressing the importance of patience and managing expectations around the gifted youngster.
