Auckland FC maintained their grip at the top of the Isuzu Ute A-League with a composed 0-2 away win over Brisbane, thanks to goals from Nando Pijnaker and Hiroki Sakai in each half.
Despite several lineup changes and a reshuffled defence, the visitors stayed resilient in the Brisbane heat.
Pijnaker opened the scoring just before half-time with a powerful header, and Sakai sealed the win after the break following a slick counter-attack and assist from Rogerson. Brisbane dominated possession but struggled to break down Auckland’s disciplined back line, anchored by standout goalkeeper Alex Paulsen.
With ten games unbeaten and a seven-point lead, Steve Corica’s side moves closer to securing the Premiers Plate with five matches remaining.
