A-League leaders Auckland FC were forced to settle for a 1–1 draw with Macarthur FC in Sydney, as the hosts extended their unbeaten run to six matches and climbed to third on the table, level on points with Sydney FC while the Black Knights remain two points clear at the top.
After early chances at both ends, Auckland took the lead just before halftime through Lachlan Brook, who scored his fourth goal of the season after latching onto a through ball and finishing past Filip Kurto.
Auckland went close to doubling their advantage early in the second half when Nando Pijnaker struck the post and then headed over from close range, but Macarthur made their pressure count when Tomi Uskok equalised from a set piece.
Despite further chances, neither side could find a winner.
