Auckland FC storm into A-League grand final

Auckland FC have booked a place in the Isuzu UTE A-League Grand Final after crushing Adelaide United 0-3 in the second leg of their semi-final to complete a dominant 4-1 aggregate victory.

The New Zealand side controlled the contest at Coopers Stadium, with Jake Girdwood-Reich opening the scoring before Sam Cosgrove converted from the penalty spot and Logan Rogerson sealed the result late on.

Adelaide struggled to turn possession into genuine opportunities, while Auckland repeatedly threatened on the counterattack and from set pieces. Goalkeeper Michael Woud produced a crucial save early in the second half to deny Ryan White before Auckland took full control.

The win sends Auckland FC into their first Grand Final and makes them the first men’s club from New Zealand to reach an Australian national league decider. They will now face either Newcastle Jets or Sydney FC in the title match.
