Auckland FC made a memorable A-League debut, securing a 2-0 victory against Brisbane Roar at Mount Smart Stadium.
The home crowd was treated to a thrilling performance, marking the return of Auckland football to the A-League after 17 years.
The first goal came just eight minutes in, courtesy of an own goal sparked by a strong play from captain Hiroki Sakai.
Despite Brisbane’s attempts to equalise, Auckland’s defense held firm, and Logan Rogerson sealed the win with a 75th-minute goal, making him the club’s first official A-League scorer.
