Auckland will host a major multi-sport weekend from March 6 to March 8, bringing together rugby league, rugby union, football and thoroughbred racing under the ‘Footy, Fillies and Fans’ banner.
The One New Zealand Warriors, Blues, Auckland FC and Auckland Thoroughbred Racing will each stage key events across the weekend, with matches and races scheduled so fans can attend all four, including via a limited $100 all-access ticket.
The weekend features the Warriors opening their NRL season, the Blues facing the Crusaders in a revenge clash, Champions Day at Ellerslie headlined by the $4 million NZB Kiwi race, and Auckland FC pushing for premiership success, with organisers and city leaders promoting the event as a major boost for tourism, hospitality and Auckland’s national and international sporting profile.
