Burnley beat nine-man Watford to move closer to Premier League promotion

Burnley overcame an early deficit to defeat nine-man Watford 1-2, extending their unbeaten league run to a club-record-equalling 30 games and moving three points clear at the top of the Championship.

Goals from Zian Flemming and Josh Brownhill sealed the comeback after Watford’s Mamadou Doumbia opened the scoring.

Watford’s second-half collapse included red cards for captain Moussa Sissoko and Edo Kayembe, while Burnley’s goalkeeper James Trafford delivered multiple crucial saves.

Burnley can now secure Premier League promotion as early as Monday when they face Sheffield United.
