Fowler claims bronze in cycling World Championship debut

Auckland’s Prudence Fowler delivered a breakthrough performance to win New Zealand’s first medal at the UCI Track Cycling World Championships in Santiago, claiming bronze in her debut.

The 22-year-old stayed with the leaders throughout the 10 km race and powered past two rivals in a thrilling final sprint, finishing behind Dutch champion Lorena Wiebes and Denmark’s Amalie Dideriksen.

Fowler said she hadn’t expected to compete in a bunch race but “held on for dear life” in the early sprint.

Meanwhile, New Zealand’s men’s team pursuit quartet qualified fourth in the 4000 m event but fell short against top-seeded Denmark in their ride-off, setting up a bronze-medal showdown with the USA.

  1. Yeah, good achievement, only wrecked by the bloody rainbow BS outfit.
The fat cats in NZ cycling shove their socio-political woke BS down our throats by dressing her not in national NZ colour but as a unicorn.
I have stopped my donations today.
