Brentford overturned a first-half deficit to beat Newcastle United 3–1 at the Gtech Community Stadium, as Igor Thiago struck twice late to secure the win.
Harvey Barnes had given Newcastle the lead before Kevin Schade’s header levelled the match after the break.
Dan Burn’s foul on Dango Ouattara earned Brentford a penalty and a second yellow card, with Thiago calmly converting from the spot before adding a second moments later after a defensive error.
The result extended Newcastle’s winless Premier League away run since April and lifted Brentford further clear of danger.
