The New Zealand Kiwis powered into the Pacific Championship final with a commanding 40-14 victory over Mate Ma’a Tonga at Auckland’s Eden Park.
Seeking redemption after last year’s one-point defeat, the Kiwis ran in seven tries, including two from five-eighth Dylan Brown, while winger Jamayne Isaako added five conversions.
Despite Tonga’s early physical dominance, New Zealand’s slick attack and superior possession proved decisive. The home side led 24-2 at halftime and maintained control throughout, sealing their place in next Sunday’s final against Toa Samoa in Sydney.
