Auckland FC were forced to settle for a 2-2 draw with the Central Coast Mariners in their A-League Men fixture at Go Media Stadium.
Jesse Randall opened the scoring early and Sam Cosgrove restored the lead in the second half before Mariners forward Oliver Lavale struck twice, including a dramatic 89th-minute equaliser that denied the home side a win.
Despite dominating much of the match and creating several chances, Auckland’s errors at key moments allowed Central Coast to fight back and share the points in wet conditions, leaving the hosts to rue dropped points as they remain top of the table.
