
Liam Lawson has been eliminated in the first stage of qualifying for the Chinese Grand Prix, finishing last among 20 drivers.
Frustrated by traffic and a narrow performance window, Lawson admitted his session was “messy” and acknowledged the need to improve.
Despite starting from the back, he earlier impressed by finishing 14th in the Grand Prix sprint, earning praise from Red Bull boss Christian Horner.
Meanwhile, Australian Oscar Piastri claimed pole position, followed by George Russell, Lando Norris, and Max Verstappen.
