Liverpool have agreed a British record £125m fee to sign striker Alexander Isak from Newcastle United, with add-ons potentially taking the deal to £130m.
The 25-year-old Sweden international is undergoing a medical before completing a six-year contract, while the Reds are also finalising a £35m move for Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi.
Isak’s arrival, following Liverpool’s record £100m signing of Florian Wirtz earlier this summer, would push their total spending to more than £451m — the highest ever by a Premier League club in one window. Isak, who scored 27 goals last season and helped Newcastle win the Carabao Cup, had grown unsettled at St James’ Park, citing “broken promises” over his future.
The move surpasses Chelsea’s £107m signing of Enzo Fernandez in 2023 and would become the third-most expensive transfer in world football history.
