The Penrith Panthers clinched their fourth consecutive NRL grand final title with a hard-fought 14-6 victory over the Melbourne Storm in Sydney.
In a low-scoring yet thrilling match, Penrith led 10-6 at halftime and extended their lead with a decisive try by Paul Alamoti, despite a controversial biting allegation involving Melbourne’s Cameron Munster.
Nathan Cleary, playing through injury, and his teammate Jarome Luai controlled the game to stifle the Storm’s attack. Liam Martin was awarded the Clive Churchill Medal as the match’s standout player.
