Phoenix rally from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Glory

Wellington Phoenix fought back from a two-goal deficit to draw 2-2 with Perth Glory in a dramatic and physical ‘Distance Derby’ at HBF Park.

New signing Jaiden Kucharski opened the scoring for Glory before Adam Taggart doubled their lead, but goals from Ifeanyi Eze and former Glory winger Carlo Armiento secured the Phoenix a hard-fought point.

The match, featuring 26 fouls and six yellow cards, saw three players net their first goals for their new clubs.

Despite letting victory slip, Perth showed improvement under new coach David Zdrilic, while Giancarlo Italiano’s rejuvenated Wellington side impressed with their resilient comeback.
