Oscar Piastri secured his third victory of the season at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, taking the lead in the drivers’ championship after benefiting from a five-second penalty handed to Max Verstappen.
Verstappen, who had cut a corner to retain the lead at Turn One, was penalised by stewards, allowing Piastri to take control and manage a steady race to finish 2.8 seconds ahead.
Verstappen held onto second, while Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc took third after a strong strategy. McLaren’s Lando Norris finished fourth, unable to pass Leclerc in the closing laps. The result puts Piastri 10 points ahead of Norris in the standings.
