‘Run It Straight’ final moved to Dubai

The final of the “Run It Straight” challenge has been relocated from Auckland to Dubai after the original venue, Trusts Arena, withdrew over safety concerns.

The event, offering a $200,000 grand prize, has faced mounting criticism following the death of a teenager in a copycat match, prompting doctors and government officials to call for its ban.

Several listed sponsors, including Foot Locker, have since distanced themselves from the event, which has gone viral online.

Organisers say the eight finalists’ travel to Dubai will be covered, though a date for the final is yet to be confirmed.
