Dixon’s decision to forgo rain tyres, despite a mid-race shower, proved pivotal as he navigated through the chaos to secure his second victory of the season, following his win at the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach in April.
Fellow New Zealander Marcus Armstrong celebrated his first top-three finish in his Indycar career, coming in third. Dixon, a six-time Indycar champion, remains focused on tying AJ Foyt’s record of seven series championships.
